Programmer/Software Developer

·   Accomplished Java Programmer with over 15+ years experience.  Technology knowledge includes Java Core, Advanced Windowing Toolkit (AWT), Spring Framework, Hibernate, Java Native Interfaces (JNI), Java 2 Platform Enterprise Environment (J2EE), Java Servlets, Java Server Pages (JSP), Java Beans and Enterprise Java Beans (EJB), Model View Controller (MVC) architecture, Java 2 Platform Micro Edition (J2ME), Java Database Connectivity (JDBC). ·   In 2012, developed a Linux driver-level program to control an LCD front panel display as part of a research and development study to explore no-configuration cloud-based personal servers.  The software used various technologies including Universal Plug and Play (UPNP), DHCP, Tomcat, etc. and displayed its running status on a front panel LCD display.

·   Since 2004, explored various technologies by writing feasibility software to demonstrate capabilities.  Projects included web scrapers, Universal Product Code (UPC) lookup, computer control of Simple Messaging System (SMS) text messaging.  Developed a Java-based Simple Mail Transport Protocol (SMTP) server and Domain Name System (DNS) server.

·   From 1999-2003 developed software to support the multilevel thin client (MLTC) approach to computing for the Department of the Navy.  The software developed included new login authentication, application launching in security zones, process monitoring and integrated smartcard technology with Citrix ICA protocols to provide desktop-to-desktop mobility.  Languages and operating systems used were Java, C/C++, Windows, and Solaris.

·   From 1995-1999 was the Chief Architect for the U.S. Navy’s Java Engineering Development Initiative (JEDI) project.  JEDI was an effort for the Navy to adopt Java technology in replacing legacy C-based applications for the Global Command and Control System Maritime (GCCS-M).

Web Developer

·   Accomplished HTML/CSS developer with over 12+ years of experience.

·   Expert with Representational State Transfer (REST/RESTFul) software architecture and various approaches including Asynchronous Javascript and XML (AJAX), Extensible Markup Language (XML) and Transformations (XMLT), Javascript Object Notation (JSON), service oriented architectures (SOA), Simple Object Access Protocol (SOAP), etc.

·   From 2010 to 2012, coordinated creation of and developed software for pharmaceutical websites and IOS applications to support the sales, marketing and information distribution for ISTA Pharmaceuticals, Thrombogenics, Merz Pharmaceuticals, Otonomy, and Bausch and Lomb.  Overall, the web applications supported hundreds of users for projects and programs representing over $18 million in revenue.  Technologies used for these applications were HTML, CSS, JQuery, Angular JS, REST and AJAX for the browser side, and Apache Tomcat Java-based technologies (JSP, JDBC and Struts) on the Web server side.  The back end database is Oracle MySQL accessed via JDBC connections.
